Laser rejuvenation is a new and unique technique that uses lasers to reduce the effects of aging on the skin. The technique is particularly effective in the skin of the face and neck, but can be applied to any area of the skin.
Description of the procedure
People undergo non-invasive laser rejuvenation treatment to reduce the effects of aging and sun exposure visible on the face and neck. Laser rejuvenation reduces redness on the face, the appearance of open pores, skin roughness and fine wrinkles and firms the skin and lightens freckles. Results are achieved by the powerful diode laser, which, thanks to light process, allows control of thermal damage to the skin, which leads to the gradual collagen remodeling while preserving the epidermis. Laser rejuvenation improves complexion and stimulates the skin to be healthier and more resistant.
Candidates
If you have a visible lines or shallow facial wrinkles, shallow acne scars or skin without sensation after face lift, then you are a good candidate for non-invasive laser skin rejuvenation.
Preparation
Course of the procedure
Treated area is cleaned with cold water to remove surface dirt and make-up. Water-based gel is applied to the skin and eye protection is put. Lasers are used in systematic sequences in order to treat various skin layers. The laser creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates deep into the skin tissue, which delivers a controlled amount of targeted therapeutic heat. The strong light pulse is applied to the area of treatment, while the contact surface of the skin is cooled by the contact hand piece. Damaged melanin is reabsorbed by lymphatic system that stimulates fibroblasts in the skin to create new collagen and elastin. New collagen and elastin tighten skin, improve skin appearance and pores and give a youthful look. At the end of the treatment the gel is removed, the skin is re-cleaned with cold water and gently dried with soft paper towel. Cream or gel moisturizer is applied to the treated area.
Recovery
Immediately after the treatment, the area exposed to the laser light will be red and sore. Redness will dwindle within a few minutes after the end of treatment. Most patients’ skin is completely calmed overnight and the next day they can use standard products for skin care and make-up.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7-10 days after the treatment, do not apply soap directly to the treated area if your skin is not calmed, and do not rub the face during the first few days after the treatment. Avoid toners, various serums, facial peeling and heavy make-up until your skin is completely calmed. You can apply ice to the problem area to help you be more comfortable and to speed up recovery.
